Gemma Nelson primarily practices in the areas of real estate, affordable housing, and low-income housing tax credits. She represents for-profit developers, non-profit organizations, and housing authorities across a spectrum of tax-driven real estate investment needs, including the
planning, financing, and development of affordable multi-family and senior housing.

Gemma has tried numerous cases and successfully litigated business, real estate, and construction disputes. With a nuanced understanding of how matters can go awry, Gemma enjoys making sense of complex legal issues and applies comprehensive advocacy in her representation of both individual and institutional clients.

Gemma graduated cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School, where she also served as executive editor of the Lewis & Clark Law Review. She is a member of both the Oregon and Washington State Bars. Gemma presently serves on Youth Villages Oregon’s Ambassador Board and the Multnomah Bar Association Young Lawyers Section, Service to the Public
Committee.

Outside of the office, Gemma enjoys travel, home renovations, and evening walks with her husband and their two dogs.
