SONIA A. MONTALBANO
Sonia A. Montalbano is a member of the Washington and Oregon State Bars. Her principal areas of practice are employment and business law, with an emphasis on litigation. She also represents clients in the areas of tort law and misdemeanor criminal matters.
Prior to joining the firm Ms. Montalbano was a partner in Cobb, Bosse & Montalbano, and also a solo practitioner. A graduate of Hunter College in New York, (B.A. in Philosophy, magna cum laude), she earned her J.D. from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College in 1997. She received a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law and was a member of the Cornelius Honors Society. She was also the recipient of the Steven Mannas Memorial Scholarship. While in law school she was employed as a law clerk for the Northwest Environmental Defense Center, as well as the Trial Court Administrator and law clerk for the Sitka Tribe in Sitka, Alaska. She also edited and contributed to The Letter of the Law, the Student Bar Association’s newspaper.
Ms. Montalbano is involved in numerous civic and bar association activities. She presently serves as Bar Counsel to the Oregon State Bar. She is a member of the Oregon Women Lawyers, the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, and the local Multnomah Bar Association. She is a frequent speaker on a variety of issues, including business entity formation, employment issues, and general litigation practice. She frequently volunteers with a variety of non-profit organizations as an auctioneer and emcee. She has also performed approximately twenty weddings.
