We understand that our clients want timely and sensible advice. Our clients generally do not want to ask a question and then receive a 40-page legal memo with footnotes. We know who pays the bills and where that money comes from. Consequently, we urge our clients to decide how much practical risk they are comfortable accepting, based on their own cost/benefit analysis, to avoid creating a $10,000 legal bill in order to "solve" a $5,000 business problem. We have not finished our job until our clients believe that we have provided real value to them.
